Family yoga classes are open to families with children (aged 6 to 11). You can practise with them and rediscover your childlike spirit, or let them discover the benefits of yoga on their own.

Children’s yoga classes focus on learning the yoga postures in a playful way. Like in a story, we take turns miming the animals of the jungle, experiencing their physical qualities and constraints. The aim is to introduce children to breath control, relaxation and the link between body and mind.

Classes are held at the Acropole studio, 20b rue Ibn Sinaï dit Avicenne, 66330 Cabestany, in a harmonious, safe environment overlooking the garden.

What is Yoga for children ?

Younger children can enjoy yoga too! Children’s yoga is a fun introduction to yoga. Learning takes many different forms, through postures that are often fun and always beneficial. By having fun reproducing animal postures, for example, children learn the postures more easily and are better able to retain the basics and principles of yoga.

Children’s yoga teaches them to feel the link between body and mind. Trying out new postures and movements, trusting yourself, observing and listening, controlling your breathing… This apprenticeship allows children to learn to control their movements, but also to respect themselves and take care of themselves and the group.

A yoga session for children has a number of benefits:

This is an ideal age for teaching them the valuable knowledge that comes from practising yoga: the mind-body connection, psychological balance, relaxation, well-being, concentration, breathing, etc. After just a few sessions, children will have integrated this teaching and will be able to manage stress and frustration better on their own.
