Vinyasa yoga / Power yoga classes | Perpignan – Cabestany (66)

Vinyasa Yoga

Looking for a Vinyasa yoga class near you? I offer Vinyasa yoga classes every week in Perpignan, Cabestany and Canet-Plage.

My Vinyasa yoga classes are open to all practitioners, as long as they are in reasonably good physical condition.

The aim of each session is twofold :

  • to improve your physical condition through strength training, muscular flexibility and cardiovascular endurance.
  • to achieve a state of well-being and deep relaxation, through breathing exercises and stretching during each posture (asana).

    What is Vinyasa Yoga ?

Vinyasa yoga is a dynamic form of yoga. This is why it is also known as dynamic yoga (or ‘power yoga’ in the US).

In Vinyasa yoga, the postures follow one another at a faster pace than in a Hatha yoga session, creating a flow in which the breath is the driving force.

Very creative, inspiring and unique, vinyasa yoga allows you to discover the magic in your body and on the mat.

Who is Vinyasa Yoga for ?

Vinyasa yoga can be practised by a wide range of people, but it is recommended for those wishing to maintain or improve their physical condition, as it involves strengthening and stretching at a more ‘athletic’ pace than Hatha yoga.

Vinyasa yoga is also suitable for people who find it hard to settle down and centre themselves. It enables them to rediscover harmony and a certain balance of mind and body.

Vinyasa yoga is therefore ideal both for those who want to practise yoga as a sport and for those who need to exercise in order to relax. It helps toeliminate toxins (although you do need to sweat a bit to do this!) and brings the same benefits as Hatha yoga, i.e. well-being and relaxation.

    The benefits of Vinyasa Yoga

A Vinyasa yoga session is beneficial on several levels:

    • muscular strength: the postures (asanas) improve muscular strength and make the body’s muscles more supple, especially the deep muscles. They also strengthen the abdominal muscles through sheathing work, thus preventing back pain.
    • Cardiovascular endurance: the faster flow of postures linked to breathing makes vinyasa yoga a sports practice that benefits the cardiovascular system.
    • massage of the internal organs: the postures and breathing exercises performed during a Vinyasa yoga session give a deep massage to the internal organs and encourage blood circulation throughout the body.
    • strengthening the link between body and mind: the muscular control work in each posture enables the practitioner to understand the architecture of his or her body and to learn, through concentration, to better feel and control each part of the body.

“ Yoga is like music: the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life. ”
