Ayurveda & ayurvedic massage
Ayurveda or ‘the knowledge of life’.
The body is a marvellous machine whose proper functioning enables us to live serenely and in good health.
It contains within itself all the elements needed to regulate itself and maintain perfect efficiency for as long as it has been given.
Contact’ is the oldest form of communication, intimacy and human solidarity, as well as being a way of relieving suffering.
Les différents soins ayurvédiques
Massage is a treatment that is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine and is part of the Ayurvedic art, the knowledge of life, together with its philosophy, culture, principles and way of life.
I offer a range of Ayurvedic treatments:
Abhyanga warm oil massage
Udvartana draining dry massage
Saundarya/Shiroshampi/Bol Kansu ritual
These massages can be combined to respond more specifically to your wishes, your Ayurvedic constitution (prakriti) or imbalance (vrikriti).
Abhyanga massage
Abhyanga is the massage of Ayurveda. It is a science expressed through the hands, the heart and the mind, with techniques, movements, applications, frictions, massages and manipulations. Abhyanga helps to prevent illness and gives pride of place to the self-healing of the human body, mind and spirit. It is a treatment in which we give and we receive… And the giver also receives.
This massage lasts between 1h and 1h30 and is performed with certified organic oil (chosen according to your constitution). It’s an all-over massage from head to toe, performed on a futon on the floor (unless contraindicated, in which case on a table with a headrest).
The benefits are numerous and multi-faceted:
The physical benefits include relaxation, slowing down the ageing process, detoxifying and regenerating tissues, toning up muscles, recovering from psychological handicaps, improving joint suppleness and relieving rheumatic pain.
The physiological benefits are the proper functioning of the organs and the digestive, circulatory, respiratory and excretory systems.
The psychological benefits are joy, calm, mental clarity, resistance to stress, the elimination of fatigue, depression, insomnia and anxiety, and improved communication skills.
Duration and price: 1 hour – 60 euros / 1h30 – 80 euros / 15 euros supplement for travel to home.

Shiroshampi, Saundarya and kansu bowl ritual

A cranial massage (Shiroshampi), a facial massage and well-being treatment using fresh, natural products made from chickpea flour, Ayurvedic powders and spices, as well as a rose oil elixir (Saundarya), a hand massage using warm sesame oil, a manual foot massage using Ghee (clarified butter) and the Kansu Bowl, which is made from an alloy of 5 metals including copper, zinc and bronze.
Price: €80 / €15 supplement for home visits.
Saundarya treatment alone with hand massage, 50 minutes, 50 euros.

Udvartana massage
The Udvartana massage is a dry massage based on chickpea flour, plant powders and organic spices. It aims to reduce excess Kapha in the body (weight, stagnation, stiffness, etc.) and in the mind (stagnation, depression, excessive attachment, etc.).
Among the many benefits of Udvartana massage are the following:
Reduces cellulite and subcutaneous fatty tissue
Detoxifies the body
Improves blood circulation and lymphatic drainage and stimulates the metabolism, boosting energy levels
Deeply cleanses and revitalises the skin, revealing its radiance
Exfoliates and smoothes the skin, tones and tightens tissues
Eliminates both physical and mental stagnation, reviving energy and enthusiasm.
Duration: 50 minutes / Price: 50 euros
Package of 5 sessions: 220 euros

Draining massage (Vodder method)
– The draining massage is not an Ayurvedic massage.
It is a gentle massage lasting 1h15-1h30.
Developed in the 1930s by Danish doctor Emil Vodder, the Vodder method is manual lymphatic drainage, based on gentle, rhythmic movements. Gentle pressure is applied all over the body to reactivate circulation by manually directing lymphatic fluid.
Lymph is a liquid that bathes the whole body, fills the space between the blood capillaries and the cell and passes through the lymph nodes to be filtered.
It plays many roles in the immune system, including transporting proteins, regulating the body’s water balance and exchanging nutrients and waste products.
It plays a complementary role to blood circulation and deserves to be drained to resolve a large number of functional disorders.
Draining massage has several effects:
Draining effect
* cleansing and displacement of interstitial tissue
* stimulation of lymph drainage
* renewal, regeneration, firming and detoxification of skin and connective tissue
Neuro-vegetative effect
* relaxing effect by stimulating para-sympathetic fibres
* analgesic effect
Muscular effect
* on striated and skeletal muscles (cleansing of muscle toxins)
* on the smooth muscles of the intestinal wall, acts on constipation, transit, spasms and abdominal pain
* on the smooth muscles of the blood vessels
Immune effect
* systemic
